The Department of Economics, University of Rajasthan is organizing
a ten days workshop on "Research Methodology" from March 20th to
29th, 2014 with an aim of imparting knowledge on various aspects of
research. The branches of Social Sciences deal with interlinked
relationships of society and human behavior. In order to understand the
complexities involved, the theories as well as quantitative applications are
very essential. The available techniques of research can help the budding
researchers, academicians and professional practitioners to improve the
quality of their work and contribution to the society. In this backdrop, the
present research workshop aims to make the researchers familiar with the
available tools of conducting a research.
OBJECTIVES
The workshop is designed to train the participants with the latest tools of
research in the field of Social Science. The course also intends to impart
the analytical skills to the researchers to decide upon the appropriate
research-methods and techniques. It is expected that the humble effort
made in the form of present workshop will assist the accomplishment of
exploratory as well as result - oriented research studies. The three specific
goals of the course are:
1. To get the participants acquainted with innovative research methods in
Social Sciences.
2. To inculcate the ability to evaluate and use appropriate research
methods.
3. To hone computer skills with the application of softwares.

The course is addressed to Ph. D scholars of Social Sciences.
